ECOLOGICAL AND ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF MODERN BROILER PRODUCTION

Summary

Over the past twenty years, the poultry industry has been characterized by the highest growth rates in the agricultural sector. The aim of the study was to analyze the impact of bird-business on the environment, in particular the problem of treatment of animal by-products; to propose organizational and economic instruments for regulating the handling of by-products of animal origin of broiler production.
An important sector of increasing meat production in Ukraine is the breeding and rearing of broiler chickens. Broiler production is a structure of interconnected production units that directly grow chicken broilers from day one to slaughter age.. The development of this sector is associated with high diet, food quality, and economic benefits compared with the production of other types of poultry. Broilers are characterized by fast-growing, efficient use of feed, relatively low feed costs per unit of products, rapid reversal of circulating assets, high profitability of production.
The increase in production volumes accordingly entails an increase in the number of animal by-products produced. In particular their mass accumulation leads to negative environmental consequences of pollution of ground waters, soil and ground water waste, air pollution emissions of harmful gases and dust, microbiological contamination of soil, air, biodiversity and reduce others., the modern level of development of the poultry industry and the state of its raw material base require a fundamentally new approach to the problem of the use of internal resources. The essence of this approach is to create and implement low-waste and non-waste technologies, which allows the maximum and integrated inclusion in the economic circulation of literally all raw materials that are constantly formed and accumulated in poultry farms in the production of basic products — eggs and poultry.
Therefore, in the absence of feed of animal origin, the use of non-food waste products for the processing of poultry products has not only a high resource-saving value, but also solves environmental problems in environmental protection.

Keywords: y-products of animal origin; poultry farming; volumes of production; broiler production; waste utilization; organizational and economic regulation; ecologically safe technologies.
